Community Liason Officer Eiffel Ramirez joined local youth for an afterschool teen gaming session. Inspired by this event, members of Uplift Our Towns chipped in to purchase the library a Playstation 4 console and donate a couple of games.

Black History Month Celebration
Congratulations to Uplifts own Bobby Wimberly who was honored by Legislator Monica Martinez on February 28th black history month celebration. It was awesome to see so many great leaders in our community get the recognition that they deserve. It is equally as nice to know that many of the leaders honored last night are young and have so much more left to give and achieve. Thank you to Kaliah D. Greene and Rodini Almonacy for all your hard work and dedication in our community. It was heartwarming to see them all get recognized in front of their proud families, specifically their children who look up to them all.
We did a quick clean up along the outside fence of the sump located between Compare Foods and Power Team Realty this past Saturday. Thank you to everyone who was able to help out.
We informed our County Legislator Monica Martinez about the possibility of getting the actual sump which is full of trash cleaned up. True to her word , she promised to forward the complaint to the appropriate department.
Going forward we want to see about getting a garbage can put in that corner.
Next spot will most likely be the wooded area at the corner of Third Ave and Stein Drive. We will definitely need more help for that so if you are interested in helping please reach out to us.
If you know of another area that needs some uplifting please let us know.
